Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) General Secretary Nizam Kariapper said National List MP Abdul Wahid had resigned in accordance with an internal party agreement and that his successor would be named following the party convention scheduled for tomorrow (16 September).
Under the agreement, five individuals will hold the National List parliamentary seat for one year each during the five-year parliamentary term. Wahid is the second person to resign from the seat under this arrangement, Kariapper said.
