Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) General Secretary Tilvin Silva met Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar yesterday (1) during a five-day visit to India aimed at strengthening engagement between the JVP and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Silva led a five-member delegation on the visit.
In a post on X, Jaishankar said their discussions focused on strengthening the deep bonds of friendship between India and Sri Lanka. He added that India, as a trusted partner, would always support Sri Lanka’s progress and prosperity.
BJP Foreign Affairs Department Head Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale told foreign media that the visit was intended to strengthen engagement between the two parties, facilitate the exchange of organizational experiences and deepen their ties.
