The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has taken steps to freeze several bank accounts belonging to Rakitha Rajapakshe, the son of former Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe.

The move has been made under the provisions of the law relating to the recovery of proceeds of crime, in connection with an ongoing investigation.

Accordingly, a team of CIABOC officials visited Rakhitha Rajapakshe’s residence in Nawala to deliver the official notice regarding the freezing of the accounts.

However, CIABOC stated that Rakhitha Rajapakshe was not at home when the officials arrived to serve the notice.
