Breaking: MP Archchuna Ordered to Be Arrested

The Anuradhapura Magistrate’s Court has today (21 January) ordered the arrest of MP Ramanathan Archchuna, following an altercation with traffic police officers in Anuradhapura on the night of 20 January. Archchuna was reportedly on his way to attend Parliament sittings when the incident occurred.

It was ordered to produce Archchuna to the Court.

The court has directed the police to provide an update on the investigation under Section 120 of the Penal Code and the Motor Traffic Act by 3 February.
