Police Seek Public Assistance to Locate Female Suspect in Ganemulla Sanjeewa Murder, Additional Photos Released

Police Seek Public Assistance to Locate Female Suspect in Ganemulla Sanjeewa Murder, Additional Photos Released

Sri Lanka Police have released additional photographs of the female suspect wanted in connection with the shooting death of organized criminal Sanjeewa Kumara Samararatne, also known as “Ganemulla Sanjeewa.”

The fatal shooting occurred on the morning of 19 February inside the Aluthkade No. 5 Magistrate’s Court. Police are now seeking public assistance to locate the suspect who allegedly aided and abetted the shooter.

The suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Pingpura Devage Ishara Sewwandi, a resident of 243/01, Negombo Road, Jaya Mawatha, Katuwellegama. She holds National Identity Card (NIC) No. 995892480V. Investigators have obtained several recent photographs to assist in her identification.

The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) has launched an extensive investigation into the murder. Police urge the public to provide any information that could help locate the suspect. Anyone with details is requested to contact:

Additionally, Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Priyantha Weerasuriya has announced a cash reward from the Police Reward Fund for information leading to the suspect’s arrest. Authorities have assured that all informants’ identities will remain strictly confidential.

The police urge the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings or relevant information to assist in bringing the suspect to justice.
