Leader of the House Bimal Rathnayake tabled the Batalanda Commission Report in Parliament a short while ago.

Tabling the report, Rathnayake stated that a Presidential Committee will be appointed to determine further actions based on the report’s revelations. He also said the report will be submitted to the Attorney General for legal advice.

Additionally, Rathnayake announced that, at an appropriate time, a two-day parliamentary debate will be held on the matter.

Delivering an emotional speech, the Leader of the House suggested that the commission report should be printed so that both MPs and the public could access it.

In addition, the 28 volumes containing the evidence will also be presented to Parliament.
