At around 11.45 am today (21 March), two unidentified individuals arriving in a three-wheeler abandoned a deceased man on the main road near Ramyaweera Mawatha, Welewatte, in the Wellampitiya Police area.

Before leaving, they informed a nearby house owner that the man had been drinking heavily and was unconscious. However, it is believed that he was already dead at the time.

The incident was captured on a CCTV camera, showing one person driving the three-wheeler while the other dragged the body onto the road.

Residents alerted the 1990 Emergency Ambulance Service, but paramedics left without taking the body after confirming the man was deceased.

The victim has been identified as a 56-year-old resident of Kadawatha. The reason for abandoning the body remains unclear, and Wellampitiya Police have launched an investigation to locate the three-wheeler and its driver.
