The Election Commission has announced that out of the 8,361 candidates who contested this year’s General Election at the district level, 7,412 have submitted their respective income and expenditure reports.

Notably, all candidates from the Matara and Kegalle districts have achieved full compliance by submitting their reports, making this a standout accomplishment among districts.

The deadline for all candidates to hand over their income and expenditure reports for the parliamentary elections, held on 14 November, expired at midnight on 6 December.
