Dan Priyasad Succumbs to Injuries After Meethotamulla Shooting

Dan Priyasad, a controversial figure and a candidate for the upcoming Local Government Election from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) for Meethotamulla, died last night after being shot outside his residence.

Police said Priyasad was attacked while attending a party at the ‘Laksanda Sevana’ apartment complex in Meethotamulla. A gunman arrived at the scene and opened fire, critically injuring him.

He was rushed to the Colombo National Hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), but succumbed to his injuries later that night.
