Four former Cabinet Ministers and two former State Ministers are set to be indicted before the Colombo High Court on bribery-related charges, sources from the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) have revealed to Ceylon Today newspaper.

The report said the former ministers reportedly represented the districts of Colombo, Kurunegala, Badulla, and Batticaloa.

According to sources, preparations are currently underway to file the indictments, following the conclusion of investigations that were launched after 2015.

The individuals are accused of abusing their official positions to engage in bribery-related misconduct.

The indictments are being prepared under Section 70 of the Anti-Corruption Act, which pertains to abuse of power, causing financial losses to the State, and the illicit accumulation of wealth.
