The Ministry of Public Security has announced plans to recruit 10,000 individuals under the age of 45 who have legally retired from active military service into the Sri Lanka Police.

Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala revealed this during the opening ceremony of the Thambuttegama Superintendent of Police Office. He said a Cabinet paper seeking approval for the recruitment for a five-year period would be presented at today’s (9 June) Cabinet meeting.
