Singer Sri Lanka PLC, in partnership with Piaggio Vehicles, unveiled the Piaggio Apé E City—an advanced electric three-wheeler—at the Colombo EV Motor Show 2025. The launch marks a milestone in Sri Lanka’s shift toward electric mobility, highlighting Singer’s commitment to innovation and responsible progress.

The Piaggio Apé E City blends state-of-the-art electric vehicle technology with Piaggio’s trusted reliability, designed to meet the growing needs of urban and last-mile transport in Sri Lanka. With zero emissions, lower running costs, and a quiet, smooth ride, the Apé E City is positioned as an ideal solution for both commercial and personal mobility.

As the exclusive distributor of Piaggio three-wheelers in Sri Lanka, Singer’s introduction of the Apé E City reflects its dedication to offering future-ready mobility backed by dependable service and support. The vehicle was officially launched at the Colombo EV Motor Show 2025, the country’s premier electric vehicle exhibition, attracting significant interest from industry experts, policymakers, and the general public.

“We are proud to reintroduce Piaggio’s iconic three-wheelers to the Sri Lankan market in an electric avatar,” said Mahesh Wijewardene, Group Managing Director of Singer Sri Lanka PLC. “The Apé E City is more than just a vehicle—it reflects our commitment to a cleaner, smarter future for urban transportation. With this launch, we continue to drive our vision of merging global innovation with local needs.”

The Apé E City FX Max comes equipped with a factory-fitted fixed battery system offering a certified range of 145 km (+5 km) per charge, making it ideal for urban and last-mile operations. It features advanced lithium-ion battery technology and a durable, efficient electric drivetrain. The vehicle offers a gross vehicle weight of 713 kg, a maximum gradeability of 20%, and operates without a clutch or gear, providing a smooth, user-friendly driving experience. Additional features include regenerative braking, a direct drive transmission, and a charging time of approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes—delivering a perfect balance of performance and sustainability in a compact design.

Singer has also introduced flexible financing plans, nationwide after-sales service, and easy access to spare parts, ensuring a hassle-free ownership experience for Apé E City customers.

With the growing demand for electric mobility in Sri Lanka, the Piaggio Apé E City is expected to play a key role in reshaping the way people and goods move across the island—efficiently, affordably, and sustainably.
