Former Navy Commander Nishantha Ulugetenne Arrested by CID

Former Sri Lanka Navy Commander Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in connection with the abduction and murder of an individual in Pothuhera.

At the time of the incident, Ulugetenne served as the Head of Naval Intelligence. Investigators allege that the victim was detained at a secret facility reportedly operated under his command.

According to police, the investigation was launched following a letter believed to have originated from the clandestine detention site. Several other suspects have already been taken into custody in connection with the case.
