Ex-Navy Chief Nishantha Ulugetenne Further Remanded

Former Navy Commander Admiral (Retired) Nishantha Ulugetenne, who was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), has been further remanded until 13 August by the Polgahawela Magistrate’s Court.

Ulugetenne was taken into custody in connection with the alleged abduction and enforced disappearance of a youth from Pothuhera, which is believed to have taken place in 2010, during his tenure as Director of Naval Intelligence.
