US-based aerospace company SpaceX has appointed Singer Sri Lanka, the country’s leading consumer electronics and home appliances retailer, as the authorised retailer of Starlink in Sri Lanka. This partnership marks a significant step towards revolutionising internet accessibility across the island, particularly in areas that have long lacked reliable connectivity.

Starlink, developed by global aerospace innovator SpaceX, is a high-performance satellite internet system designed to deliver fast, reliable, and truly unlimited internet access to users anywhere in the world. By utilising a vast constellation of low-Earth orbit satellites, Starlink overcomes the limitations of ground-based infrastructure and provides seamless digital connectivity, even in remote locations.

The introduction of this technology in Sri Lanka offers a transformative opportunity to close the longstanding digital divide that has hindered economic development, access to education, and digital inclusion—especially in rural and underserved communities.

Through this strategic partnership, Singer reinforces its position as Sri Lanka’s leading enabler of technological advancement, bringing global innovation closer to everyday consumers. Customers will now be able to purchase and activate Starlink devices through Singer’s extensive retail and online networks, gaining unprecedented control and independence over their internet experience. Whether for home users with high data needs, remote workers, businesses, schools, farms, emergency services, entrepreneurs, or travellers, Starlink delivers reliable, high-speed internet access.

Mahesh Wijewardene, Group Managing Director of Singer Sri Lanka PLC, said the partnership with Starlink marks a pivotal moment, as Singer becomes the first company in Sri Lanka to receive formal approval from SpaceX. He said the company is proud to enable access to one of the world’s most advanced satellite internet systems, connecting communities along Sri Lanka’s northern and southern coasts with reliable, borderless internet.

Chairman of Singer Sri Lanka, Mohan Pandithage, said the partnership is a significant milestone for both Singer and the country. He added that by joining hands with SpaceX to introduce Starlink, Singer is advancing the nation’s digital connectivity and strengthening the foundation for inclusive, technology-driven progress. As part of the Hayleys Group, the company is proud to support national digitalisation efforts through bold, future-focused solutions.

Users can now activate their Starlink service independently via the Starlink mobile app. The monthly subscription is unlimited, allowing customers the freedom to manage their internet usage on their own terms.

Each Starlink hardware package includes a Starlink dish, Wi-Fi router, cables, and power adapter. Singer will offer different device variations to suit residential, mobile, and business-grade applications, with prices starting from LKR 69,000. All devices come with Singer’s trusted after-sales service and warranty.

Starlink hardware is available for preorder at Singer and Singer Mega outlets islandwide, as well as online at www.singer.lk. Free delivery is offered across the country. Flexible payment options are also available through credit cards, making this groundbreaking connectivity solution accessible to a broad segment of Sri Lankan consumers.
