The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court today (27) ordered the release on bail of former IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon, who had been in remand over the assault on protesters during the 2022 Aragalaya.

Magistrate Nilupuli Lankapura issued the order after considering submissions made by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Deputy Solicitor General representing the Attorney General’s Department.
