Two Tuk Tuk Drivers Arrested for Overcharging Foreign Tourists

Police have arrested two three-wheeler drivers accused of overcharging two female foreign tourists during their visit to Colombo.

The suspects, aged 40 and 48, are residents of Imbulgoda and Wellampitiya. According to police, they had allegedly demanded Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 30,000 from two tourists from Brazil and Belgium for short trips, far exceeding the usual fare.

The arrests were made by the Tourist Police Division following complaints lodged by the victims. The two drivers have since been handed over to the Cinnamon Garden and Kollupitiya Police Stations for further investigations.
