Orel Academy launches Internship program to foster the country’s next generation of innovators

The Orel Internship Programme has in place a well-established and successful internship agenda designed to bring highly qualified and motivated students with diverse backgrounds into the organization to work on projects linked to Digital Commerce,  IoT, Building Infrastructure, R&D, and professional development.

Its main goal is to give successful candidates the opportunity to improve their business and management skills in an innovative, challenging and stimulating work setting and business environment, providing valuable and relevant work experience that will give the opportunity to work alongside experienced industry professionals in the organization.

As such, Orel Corporation recently participated in the Universal College Lanka (UCL) Careers day, with the aim of providing young leaders with meaningful and enriching internships to lead, grow, innovate and reach their greatest potential in their chosen career fields.  

UCL is the exclusive partner in Sri Lanka for Monash Education and the University of Central Lancashire ( UCLAN ) and is fully owned  by Eduko Lanka, a private education services company. The campus offers state of the art facilities such as internationally recommended classroom sizes for greater student interaction and engagement, modern laboratories, well equipped libraries and comfortable study areas for their students.

Kicking off the event, Mr. Gihan Silva, CEO of UCL and Dr. Dhananjay Kulkarni, Dean of Academic Affairs, commended the students for completing their degrees successfully during these difficult times and motivated them to be creative, imaginative, to think originally and unconventionally and not to be afraid to push boundaries to achieve success.     

This was followed by a panel discussion outlining the benefits of the internship programs offered by the participating organizations. All interns are trained by senior management personnel who provide ongoing support and coaching through structured learning curriculums and training sessions. In addition to their internship experience, interns will have the opportunity to participate in networking and extracurricular opportunities designed to foster peer and professional connections. “

The event concluded with Orel Corporation offering numerous opportunities for graduates of UCL to join their internship program.
