Samsung Z1 Launch In Sri Lanka Nears

Samsung has only released the Tizen powered Samsung Z1 in a handful of markets but it appears that it’s not quite done yet with this device and may launch it in a new market. There have been reports recently that it’s lining up a launch of the Samsung Z1 in Sri Lanka and there’s now even more reason to believe that this is going to happen in the near future. The Z1 was first released in India and later on in Bangladesh, according to unofficial reports Samsung has so far sold 500,000 units in the two countries.

The company recently started accepting paid applications from developers in Sri Lanka for the Tizen Store, promising developers that they will receive all of the revenue generated by sales of their paid apps up until January 31, 2016. Today firmware version Z130HDDU0BOE3 has become available for the Samsung Z1 and it carries country code SLK which corresponds to Sri Lanka. This particular firmware version has not yet been released in Bangladesh or India where the Z1 is already available, which is why this is a major indication that the Samsung Z1 launch in Sri Lanka is not that far off. The company itself has so far not confirmed when it will formally launch the device in this country.
