New Delhi on Thursday detained a Pakistan high commission official for alleged espionage, Indian media reported.
According to reports, the official, a staff member of Pakistani envoy Abdul Basit, was found “possessing defence related documents”. The detained official has been identified as Mehmood Akhtar, accordig to the Times of India.
Further, reports added that Basit was summoned by the external affairs ministry after police authorities sent the report regarding the detention to the concerned ministry, the Express Tribune said.
