Model and actress Heshani Liyadipita has strongly denied social media claims linking her to detained underworld figure Mandinu Padmasiri Perera, widely known as Kehelbaddara Padme.

In a video statement published on Facebook, Heshani Liyadipita said that over the past few days, a group of individuals had fabricated serious allegations using her name, spreading false information without any evidence or understanding of the facts.

“It is deeply painful and disappointing that some people on social media create such false accusations—things I have never done or even thought of in my life,” she wrote. “Because of their own satisfaction and low mentality, they publish such large-scale allegations without verifying the truth.”

Liyadipita added that she has decided to take legal action against those responsible for spreading these claims.

Expressing frustration at the culture of public shaming and baseless speculation, she wrote that people should be allowed to live freely and happily with the things they love, without facing judgement.

“We should try to live happily with what we have instead of being jealous of what others have,” she said. “Before becoming someone who hurts or mocks another person without knowing the truth, think twice.”
