A warrant has been issued for the arrest of NPP MP Jagath Manuwarna, after he failed to appear before the Fort Magistrate’s Court today (29).

​The MP was due to attend hearings for two separate cases dating back to 2008 that are pending before the court.

​Instead of presenting himself for the court proceedings, it was reported that MP Manuwarna had instead attended a land distribution program at a different location. Citing his non-appearance in relation to the long-pending cases, the Fort Magistrate’s Court issued the warrant for his immediate arrest.
