Two of the three generators at the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant are currently out of service, resulting in a temporary loss of 600 megawatts to the national power grid.
The second generator has been offline since November due to scheduled maintenance conducted once every three years, while the first generator was taken out of service following a technical fault in its boiler.
Despite the setback, a senior spokesperson for the power plant assured that there would be no disruption to the electricity supply, as hydroelectric power generation is compensating for the temporary shortfall.
