Former Western Province Governor Azad Salley appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to provide a statement and submit documents in connection with a complaint he has lodged against Former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake.
Salley arrived at the CID today (5) carrying a file containing material he described as evidence, after his complaint was formally taken up for examination.
“This is regarding a complaint I made a long time ago, but no action was taken. Former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake has taken over one of my lands. I came today (5) to provide a statement in connection with that,” Salley said.
He alleged that the land in question, valued at Rs. 150 million, was acquired for only Rs. 15 million. “I hope justice will be delivered this time,” Salley added.
