Journalist and social media commentator Darshana Handungoda has passed away, reports said.

He died this morning (10) while receiving treatment for an illness at the National Hospital in Colombo. He was 55 years old at the time of his death.

Handungoda was widely known for his direct and critical commentary on national issues and had built a large following on social media, where he was a prominent and influential voice.
