The Court of Appeal yesterday dismissed a writ application filed by two Buddhist monks, including Ven. Balangoda Kassapa Thera, seeking an order to invalidate their remand.

The Court of Appeal today re-fixed today (3) to deliver its order on the interim relief sought by two Buddhist monks, including Ven. Balangoda Kassapa Thera, who are currently in remand for violating coastel conservation laws in Trincomalee.

A two-judge bench comprising the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Rohantha Abeysuriya, and Justice Priyantha Fernando announced that the court would deliver its order today (3).

Meanwhile, The Trincomalee Magistrate’s Court yesterday (02) further remanded 10 persons, including four Buddhist monks until 9 February.
