Dimuth Bhashitha Atapattu assumes duties as Data Protection Authority DG

Dimuth Bhashitha Atapattu officially assumed duties as the Director General of the Data Protection Authority of Sri Lanka at a ceremony attended by several key officials in the country’s digital governance sector.

The event was attended by Chairman Rajeeva Bandaranaike, Secretary to the Ministry of Digital Economy Waruna Sri Dhanapala, Acting CEO of Sri Lanka CERT Kanishka Karunasena, and Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Digital Economy Rohana Alawattha, along with staff of the Ministry of Digital Economy and the Data Protection Authority.

Officials noted that the appointment marks a significant step in strengthening Sri Lanka’s framework for data protection, privacy, and digital trust as the country continues to advance its digital governance and cybersecurity initiatives.
