Cabinet awards SriLankan Airlines Dubai handling contracts to Dnata

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the award of contracts to Dnata for passenger, ground, and cargo handling services for SriLankan Airlines at Dubai International Airport.

According to the Government, SriLankan Airlines currently operates scheduled passenger and cargo flights to Dubai International Airport.

The existing Standard Ground Handling Agreement between SriLankan Airlines and Dnata for passenger handling and ground services expired on 31 March, while the cargo handling agreement is due to expire on 30 June.

Based on recommendations of the Bid Evaluation Committee and the Higher Level Procurement Committee, Cabinet approved the proposal submitted by the Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation to award the contracts to Dnata.

Accordingly, the contract for passenger and ground handling services has been awarded for a three-year period from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2029 at an estimated cost of AED 33.04 million.

The cargo handling services contract has been awarded for three years from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2029 at an estimated cost of AED 7.6 million.

The combined estimated value of the two contracts amounts to AED 40.64 million.
