The Director of the Castle Street Hospital for Women, Dr. Ajith Danthanarayana, has rejected allegations circulating on social media claiming that children’s genders are being changed at the hospital, describing the claims as false.

In a media statement issued in response to allegations made by Elle Gunawansa Thera during a television programme, the hospital director stated that no such procedures were being carried out at the institution.

“As the Director of the hospital, I responsibly state that no such activity is taking place at this hospital,” the statement noted.

Dr. Danthanarayana further emphasised that the hospital remains fully open to any investigation if authorities deem one necessary.
