The Rotaract Club of the University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance recently launched “ImmersionX”, a project aimed at introducing students to the fields of virtual reality and game development.
As part of the initiative, the university hosted its first-ever Virtual Reality (VR) Exhibition on 4 May, providing students with an opportunity to experience immersive technology firsthand.
The event drew over 100 participants, creating an interactive environment where students explored virtual experiences and gained insight into emerging technological trends. The project was carried out with the support and collaboration of the Rotaract Club of the University of Colombo School of Computing.

The exhibition was supported by Heladev, represented by Ranga Pushpakumara, and Infinity Brains Network, represented by Mohamed Asan, whose contributions helped facilitate the event.
As an extension of the project, a Game Development Session was also conducted on 6 May. The session was facilitated by Tharindu Munasinghe, Founder and Director of Levelstair, and focused on opportunities within the gaming industry while encouraging students to explore creativity and innovation through technology.
The project was supported by Milo as the official beverage partner.
Organisers stated that ImmersionX reflected the club’s commitment to creating innovative learning opportunities for students while marking a milestone as the first VR exhibition held at the university.
