Fuel QR system to tighten as Govt seeks to curb forex outflow: Minister

Minister of Ports, Civil Aviation, and Energy Anura Karunathilaka said the QR code-based fuel quota system currently in place is expected to be strictly enforced in the future.

Speaking at a media briefing today (1), the Minister said the move is aimed at regulating and limiting fuel consumption to a certain extent amid the ongoing crisis.

He added that the Government expects the measure to help ease the economic impact of the situation to some degree.
