The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court has imposed an overseas travel ban on former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in connection with the ongoing investigation into the 2019 Easter Sunday terror attacks.

The order was issued by Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasekara after considering a motion filed by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which is conducting investigations into the coordinated bombings.

The court also imposed foreign travel restrictions on two other individuals — Army Colonel Mohamed Ansar and former intelligence officer Premananda Udalagama, alias Silva.

Meanwhile, former Director of State Intelligence, retired Major General Suresh Salley, remains under detention orders in relation to the same investigation.
