A nationwide Dengue Prevention Week commenced today (15) and will continue until 20 June as health authorities step up efforts to curb the spread of dengue fever amid growing concerns over rising infections across the country.

As part of the programme, public spaces including cities, drainage systems, commercial complexes, religious sites, and bus stations will undergo cleaning activities from today until 17 June.

The National Dengue Control Unit has also scheduled a dedicated clean-up campaign for all educational institutions and their surrounding areas, including schools, pre-schools, and private tuition centres, on 18 June.

On 19 June, cleaning activities will be carried out at all public and private institutions as well as factory premises.

The week-long campaign will conclude on 20 June with a nationwide effort to clean private residences and surrounding premises, with authorities urging the public to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and support dengue prevention measures.
