One World Duty Free (ODF), Singapore’s first home-grown omni-channel duty-free brand, has entered the South Asian market with the opening of its newest store at Colombo’s Port City Duty Free Mall.

Opened on January 1, 2025, the store will provide a premium shopping experience to international travelers and domestic customers.

“The opening of our flagship store in Port City, Sri Lanka is a pivotal moment for ODF as we expand into the South Asian market.

Our carefully curated selection of world-class brands and categories underscores our commitment to providing travelers with an unparalleled retail experience. This initiative also supports Colombo’s transformation into a leading retail and tourism hub,” ODF CEO Kiera Zhang said.

Currently, the store introduces five main product categories: perfumes, wines and spirits, sunglasses, timepieces and toys.

The store includes brands such as Calvin Klein, Burberry, Chloe, Davidoff, Hugo Boss, Marc Jacobs, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Mont Blanc, Saint Laurent, Seiko, Casio, Lego and Disney.

Zhang said that ODF hopes to complete the second phase of its Port City duty-free store by March 2025, as the expansion will fully realize the store’s 12,800 square feet retail footprint. The Port City’s duty-free store is expected to attract over two million visitors annually, demonstrating its position as a leading shopping destination.

Meanwhile, Sri Lankan passport holders, including dual citizens of Sri Lanka and passport holders with a Sri Lankan resident visa (who have returned to Sri Lanka with a valid proof of arrival) are eligible for an annual duty-free allowance of US$2000.

Commencement of allowance is permitted for four days from the first day of arrival.

Travelers with valid passports are not subject to an annual allowance limit and are eligible to purchase from the duty-free shop from the date of arrival. Their purchases are easily available at the airport pickup counter at the Bandaranaike International Airport.
