Milinda Moragoda was presented with an early copy of Nalanda – How It Changed the World during a brief visit to New Delhi by its author, Ambassador Abhay K. The book was formally launched at the Jaipur Literary Festival on 31 January 2025.

Besides being a prolific writer and poet, Abhay K. has served as Ambassador to Madagascar and is currently the Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Georgia. He is also serving as the deputy director general of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations in New Delhi.

A native of Bihar, Abhay K. was born in Rajgir in the Nalanda district. His latest work pieces together the history of Nalanda, offering fascinating details about one of the greatest centres of ancient learning. The book explores the rise, fall, and revival of Nalanda, its wide influence beyond the Buddhist world, and the lasting inspiration it continues to provide.

The book is published by Penguin Random House India.
