Arctic (Pvt) Ltd, Sri Lanka’s leading data centre cooling specialist, has been awarded the Best Thermal Solutions Partner for Sri Lanka by Vertiv Co., a global leader in precision air-conditioning systems. The award was presented at Vertiv’s Annual Partner Sales Conference in Dubai, recognising Arctic’s invaluable contributions to Sri Lanka’s data centre industry.

As Vertiv’s sole authorised partner in Sri Lanka for over three decades, Arctic has played a key role in promoting Liebert Precision Air Conditioning systems. Chamila Premaratne, Director of Arctic (Pvt) Ltd, attended the event in Dubai and accepted the award on behalf of the Arctic team. Premaratne, who began his career at Arctic as an engineer, has risen to his current position as Director, bringing extensive experience in implementing thermal solutions that adhere to world-class international standards across multiple critical data centres in Sri Lanka.

“We are honoured to receive this recognition from Vertiv, which acknowledges our expertise and dedication in delivering state-of-the-art thermal cooling systems to critical installations such as data centres—the backbone of many 24/7 business operations, including banks, in Sri Lanka. Since our inception in 1985, we have successfully installed over 1,000 precision air-conditioning systems, ensuring optimal cooling for the country’s most critical data centres. I would also like to extend my gratitude to Vertiv for their unwavering support, particularly during challenging periods such as the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Chamila Premaratne, Director of Arctic (Pvt) Ltd.

Looking ahead, Premaratne emphasised the importance of data-driven advancements in Sri Lanka. “In the coming years, Sri Lanka is set to transform into a data-driven digital economy, catering to both domestic and international consumers. With the rise of AI, all aspects of society will increasingly rely on data, leading to the rapid expansion of data centres. Emerging trends such as liquid cooling are expected to set new benchmarks in the industry.”

Reginald Borges, Director of International Business at Vertiv, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to its partnership with Arctic. “We remain dedicated to working alongside Arctic in Sri Lanka. Our collaboration aligns with our mission to deliver high-quality products, complemented by Arctic’s exceptional service and support. Together, we ensure seamless operations and reliability for our customers.”

The success of Arctic (Pvt) Ltd is attributed to the visionary leadership of its Chairman, Aravinda Amarasinghe, and the late Director, A.K. Hemakumara, who played a pivotal role in establishing Arctic as an industry leader. The company also extends its gratitude to its past and present employees for their unwavering contributions, which have been instrumental in Arctic’s continued success.
