Asian Paints Causeway, Sri Lanka’s leading manufacturer of paints and part of the Asian Paints Group, secured top accolades at the recently concluded Sri Lanka Architects Awards 2025, organised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (SLIA). The company emerged victorious in the Annual Product Awards 2025, which recognise locally manufactured products that utilise local or imported materials.

Asian Paints Causeway’s SmartCare Aqua Safe, a revolutionary premium waterproofing paint that protects exterior walls from dampness and harsh weather conditions, was honoured with the prestigious ‘Excellence Award’, while SmartCare Damp Seal, a waterproofing undercoat that ensures exceptional crack-bridging ability and protects walls from dampness, earned a ‘Merit Award’.

Commenting on the achievement, Sireesh Rao, Regional Head of Asian Paints International Pvt. Ltd, stated, “The SLIA Awards is the most prestigious recognition in the construction industry, organised by the representative body of all chartered architects in the country. As the leader in Sri Lanka’s paint market, known for combining international R&D and technical expertise with local insights to create outstanding products, we have always been at the forefront of the construction sector. The recognition of two of our most innovative products on this esteemed platform is a testament to our commitment to excellence.”

The Sri Lanka Architects Awards is known for its rigorous evaluation process, setting industry benchmarks across multiple categories. Winners of the Annual Product Awards are selected based on stringent criteria assessed by an expert panel of judges. Products are evaluated on factors such as technical data, novelty, architectural value, sustainability, value addition, and performance metrics. Additional considerations include availability, pricing, after-sales service, past project applications, and warranty standards.

Asian Paints Causeway’s SmartCare Aqua Safe earned ‘Excellence’ status for excelling across all assessment parameters. In addition to its superior protection against dampness and harsh weather, the premium paint is widely recognised for its resistance to dirt, algae, and fungi, as well as its long-lasting brightness and whiteness. The Merit Award-winning SmartCare Damp Seal stood out for its superior crack-bridging capability, best-in-class flexibility, and exceptional waterproofing properties.

As a market leader, Asian Paints Causeway continues to drive innovation in Sri Lanka’s construction sector, offering high-performance coatings that redefine durability and aesthetics. The company remains committed to delivering world-class solutions tailored to the unique challenges of Sri Lankan architecture and climate.
