An urgent search is underway for a 20-year-old French national, Jules, who is believed to be missing in Sri Lanka. His friends and family issued an appeal for information after losing contact with him on Sunday.

According to the message shared by his friends, Jules was last seen around 11:07 AM near Deepika Resort in Mirissa on 11 May. He last communicated with them at 1:44 PM the same day. He had reportedly planned to travel to Udawalawa, possibly heading to Suncity Privacy Cottages, using a bus, tuk-tuk, or taxi.

Since then, there has been no further contact, prompting serious concern among those close to him. “We are extremely worried. We fear that something may have happened — that he might have been injured, fallen into a ditch or remote area, or worse,” the message stated.

Local authorities have been informed, and the French Embassy has also been notified of the disappearance.

A photograph of Jules has been circulated alongside the appeal in the hope that someone may have seen him or have information about his whereabouts. Anyone with relevant information is urged to come forward immediately.
