Musthapha Nominated to Fill Remaining ‘Gas Cylinder’ National List Vacancy

Former MP Faiszer Musthapha PC has been nominated to fill the remaining slot in the National List of the New Democratic Front (NDF), Asian Mirror learns.

Accordingly, the Election Commission (EC) has been informed about his nomination.

The NDF secured two slots from the National List based on the votes received in the 2024 General Election.

Ravi Karunanayake was gazetted as one of the National List MPs, sparking turmoil within the party. Several rounds of discussions followed to decide who would occupy the second slot.

Former Minister Kanchana Wijesekara was also nominated for the position, adding to the internal debate.
