Thai Transwoman Pleads Guilty Over Topless Walk in Arugam Bay

A 26-year-old Thai transwoman has been sentenced to six weeks in prison by the Pottuvil Magistrate’s Court after pleading guilty to indecent exposure and causing a public nuisance by walking topless in Pottuvil, Arugam Bay.

The sentence was suspended for five years

The woman was taken into custody by the Women’s Division of the Pottuvil Police after she was seen walking along a public road with her upper body exposed.

Police said the woman had walked topless from the Beach Hut Hotel to the entrance of the Ocean Sky Hotel.
