Commemorative plaques were presented to Indonesian police officers who played a key role in apprehending Kehelbaddara Padme and his group of organised criminals.

The officers from both Indonesia and Sri Lanka involved in the mission were commended by Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Ananda Wijepala.

On 27 August, five Sri Lankan organised criminals were arrested in Indonesia and brought back to the island on 30 August via the Katunayake International Airport.

At the airport, the Indonesian officers who led the arrests and repatriation, together with the Sri Lankan officers who supported the mission, were formally received and acknowledged by Minister Wijepala and Inspector General of Police, Attorney Priyantha Weerasooriya.
