The Additional District Judge of Matara has been removed from service following a lengthy disciplinary inquiry conducted by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), which found the judge guilty of the charges levelled.

Meanwhile, the Magistrate of Matugama has tendered her resignation after admitting to the allegations against her before the JSC.

Until a new magistrate is appointed, the former Additional Magistrate has been designated to serve as the Acting Magistrate.
