Inquiry Against Dr. Palitha Rajapaksha Over Past Statement

Dr. Palitha Rajapaksha of the Badulla Teaching Hospital has been summoned before the Public Service Commission (PSC) for a disciplinary inquiry over a past statement he made regarding the recent shortage of medicines in state hospitals.

The statement in question had been made in 2022 and based on that an inquiry has been commenced in 2023.

Dr. Rajapaksha, speaking to Ada Derana, confirmed that he was currently at the PSC after being summoned through the Ministry of Health.

Dr. Rajapaksha was recently praised for his exceptional service in treating victims of last week’s tragic bus accident on the Ella–Wellawaya main road.
