Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage (correct name if you want updated, but you wrote Lasantha Rodrigo) has commended Lance Corporal W.M.V.M. Bandara of the 2nd Special Forces Regiment for his bravery in rescuing passengers during a recent bus accident near Ravana Falls on the Ella–Wellawaya main road on 4 September.

According to the Sri Lanka Army, Lance Corporal Bandara voluntarily assisted in rescue operations, saving three passengers who had been trapped following the accident.
