Programme to Inspect Long-Distance Buses from Colombo Launched

The Ministry of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation has announced a new programme to inspect the standards of long-distance bus services departing from Bastian Mawatha, Colombo.

Under this initiative, buses travelling over 100 kilometres from the Bastian Mawatha bus terminal will be examined to ensure compliance with operational and safety standards.

The programme will be launched this morning (9) under the supervision of P. A. Chandrapala, Chairman of the National Transport Commission, the Ministry confirmed.
