Sri Lanka Army Commander Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo paid farewell calls on Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) and Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) ahead of the completion of his tenure as the 25th Commander of the Sri Lanka Army.
During separate meetings at their respective offices, the Deputy Defence Minister and Defence Secretary commended Lieutenant General Rodrigo for his distinguished military career, leadership and dedicated service to the country.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Defence, the two officials also recognised his efforts to strengthen the operational capabilities and professionalism of the Sri Lanka Army during his tenure.
They expressed their appreciation for Lieutenant General Rodrigo’s contribution to the country and the Army and extended their best wishes for his future endeavours.
