Bird Strike Forces Istanbul-Bound Flight to Return to BIA

An Airbus A330 passenger aircraft that departed from Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) for Istanbul, Türkiye, on Saturday morning (11) was reportedly struck by a bird shortly after take-off.

As a precaution, the aircraft is flying at a lower altitude over the Chilaw area while burning fuel to reduce its landing weight before making an emergency landing at BIA.
