Darshana Rajendran Wins Best Actress at Critics’ Choice Awards in India for Prasanna Vithanage’s Paradise

Sri Lankan cinema fans have a reason to celebrate as Darshana Rajendran has won the prestigious Best Actress award in the Feature Film category at the Critics’ Choice Awards 2025. She earned this honor for her outstanding performance in Paradise, a film directed by acclaimed Sri Lankan filmmaker Prasanna Vithanage.

In the same awards, Sri Lankan actor Mahendra Perera was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Feature Film for his role in Paradise. However, the award went to Ravi Kishan for his performance in Laapataa Ladies.

The Critics’ Choice Awards, announced by the Film Critics Guild, took place yesterday (26 March), recognizing excellence in film and storytelling across various categories.
