The Supreme Court has ruled that former Minister A.H.M. Fowzie violated fundamental rights by misusing a government vehicle and ordered him to pay Rs. 6.6 million to the Consolidated Fund.

The Court directed Fowzie to pay Rs. 1,664,334.93 within one month and settle the remaining amount within two months.

Additionally, the Supreme Court ordered him to publish a half-page public apology on the front pages of the Silumina, Sunday Observer, and Thinakaran newspapers within one month.

The apology must include a photograph of the government vehicle that was misused.
