Objections were filed against Dallas Alahapperuma and Manoj Sirisena in the UPFA nominations list in Matara District.

Our National Front alleged that Dallas Alahapperuma is a dual citizen of Sri Lanka and USA.

Meanwhile, JVP team leader Sunil Handunnetti filed objections against Provincial Councilor Manoj Sirisena on the grounds that he is a dual citizen of Sri Lanka and Australia.

According to the recently passed 19th Amendment, dual citizens are not allowed to vote and be elected to parliament.
